Mother’s day and women health
It was Mother’s day celebration yesterday, Sunday the 14th of March 2021.
However I do ask the question if Mother’s day was a religious celebration or a family day. I stumbled on an article which I would quote below, this should explain the What and Why of “Mother’s Day”.
When?
Mother’s Day this year was on Sunday, March 14 2021.
Known by its religious name, Mothering Sunday, it has become more commercialised over the years.
What?
Mother’s Day is a celebration held to honour mothers and maternal figures.
The day has evolved into an occasion for children to honour and give presents to their hardworking mums.
In the UK, it was originally linked to religion but has since lost a lot of its connections to the church and is mainly a family day.
However, the emphasis of this article is to emphasize on our mothers health and the top 10 health screenings every mother (or women) should have.
I would share more on this health screenings in the next article soon.
Our mothers (or every woman) should make time for healthy habits — regular exercise, stress management, and choosing the right foods. Scheduling routine health screenings, which can detect potential problems early, is one of those habits.
Regular screening may even save their lives. A doctor said “When you detect a disease early you can prevent complications and improve quality of life,” This is very true.
